Karaoke song

Published May 31, 2008 by lunalunaz

So this is my favourite song at the moment and practicing it now because I have to go to a meeting next week in the evening. They may ask me to go to Karaoke afterwards!
This is the song for the Japanese Drama "Around 40" and my husband told me this song has become very popular now (perhaps because the drama is very popular).

My first Auctioning experience

Published May 28, 2008 by lunalunaz

I had sold audio CDs through Japanese Auction site called Rakuten.
This morning I had rated the buyer "Good" and he had rated me "Good", too.
I earned 500 yen (about 5 us dollars) from this deal.
But I find it addicting because it gives me a kind of feeling that I am connected to a real world……

Around 40

Published May 24, 2008 by lunalunaz

It is my favourite TV drama at the moment. ( every Friday at 10 in the evening ) And I think it is quite popular here.
It is about friendship among three Japanese ladies around 40.
One is a housewife, who is trying to go back to work after long years as a housewife.
The other one is a female doctor having trouble with her relationships, (probably because of her high social status??)
And the last one is a magazine editor, recently married, having trouble conceiving a child.
I do understand everyone's problems and sympathize with them.  Well almost…
I do not sympathize with the editor one because she is trying too hard to be perfect and wanting to have everything in her life…….

Sending kids to foreign countries….

Published May 20, 2008 by lunalunaz

I heard that sending kids to foreign countries for a short time is becoming very popular here. So I asked a friend of mine who had sent her son to Wellington,NZ for a month about a year ago. She told me he stayed with a very nice family and got to go to a private school there, but she also told me she had to pay for 500,000 yen! (about 5000 dollars)
You know I had spent a year as an exchange student in the U.S. and stayed with a nice family. But my father paid about 500,000yen, about the same amount of money for a whole year. And the organization – American Field Service had given me monthy allowances too!
Spending some time in a different countries is a great experience. But it is a great amount of money too!

First Impression

Published May 17, 2008 by lunalunaz

Today was a horrible day for me.
I still haven't recovered from the shock.
I had attended a kind of seminar this morning.
And the instructor made us write the first impressions of others.
I got really bad comments.
The picture on my sheet was sort of awful, I have to admit.
But I am really shocked to learn that people think of me, too shy, too serious, even scary!
