First Impression

Published May 17, 2008 by lunalunaz

Today was a horrible day for me.
I still haven't recovered from the shock.
I had attended a kind of seminar this morning.
And the instructor made us write the first impressions of others.
I got really bad comments.
The picture on my sheet was sort of awful, I have to admit.
But I am really shocked to learn that people think of me, too shy, too serious, even scary!

  • “It is easier to perceive
error than to find truth, for the former lies on the surface and is
easily seen, while the latter lies in the depth, where few are willing
to search for it.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.People will judge you without knowing the truth of whom you are. Do not trouble your self because of strangers first impressions of you.

  • I agree with Shugo. As long as you know the truth of who you are, and your family knows, then it does not matter what first (or even second, and onward) impressions others have of you.

  • Shugo, Jack, SolleeThank you very much! I am deeply touched!I have been thinking about this matter a lot and realized that I am not so friendly towards strangers because I am really too shy…..I guess I have to thank for the bad comments which made me realize how I behave.

  • If what they said was so mean or critical it hurt you, that is a reflection of them as people. Many people I meet, I dislike, but I do not judge so quickly. Special cases I will really hate a person. =)

  • Defensive…..no wonder some think I am scary! But I am OK thanks Azure! It is sort of agonizing to know myself…..do you know what I mean?Anyway I have decided to be very friendly and smiley all the time.
